Bringing a Dream Green Wedding to Life

My husband and I were married in 1997 in a beautiful outdoor garden wedding. While the term “green wedding” had not yet been formally defined, we made a few eco-friendly choices which just seemed like a “natural” fit with our values and beliefs. For example, we held our ceremony and reception in the same location to reduce the transportation impact. We kept the wedding conservative, inviting less than 100 friends and family members. Our flowers and food came from local businesses, and we had our invitations printed on recycled paper.

Today, eco-conscious couples have many more choices to make their green wedding both beautiful and sustainable. It is my dream to bring you these elegant and earth-friendly choices all in one convenient online wedding boutique... so you can have your dream green wedding!

My Inspiration

My husband and I have always been avid animal lovers, and it breaks our hearts to see their habitats disappearing (learn about our recent efforts to help the wildlife in the Gulf affected by the oil spill). Additionally, living in Florida, we have experienced first-hand the devastating effects of climate change with more frequent and dangerous hurricane seasons.
While we have always practiced water conservation, recycling and reuse as part of our regular routine, I wanted to do more to make a difference. When I discovered the environmental impact that weddings can have on the earth, I was immediately inspired to learn how I could help brides create a green wedding without sacrificing style and elegance.
